Learning to simplify scenes and objects can be valuable to improving your artwork, no matter what medium you work with. Once you understand that everything can be simplified, there isn’t anything that you can’t draw!

187k views on the first video! It’s crazy how many people gave up on step
1.
I’m jealous of your hands, like artists hands. Mine are small and stubby
and not very moveable, here kind of stiff.. Hope that won’t get in the way
too much
Wow you rock you explain things so well
Please don’t stop making videos these are helping a lot. You got my sub sir
Your tutorials are amazing. I really feel like I’m sitting in an art
school. THANK YOU!
You are an awesome teacher! subscribed.
i never thought i can draw my hand really well ( at least for me) using
your concept of simple shapes. Thanks a lots.
the video was really helping …. i am re-watching it i am sketching trees
,houses, chairs , spheres …. just trying … i am very beginner but it is
getting good alhamdu lilah
Fantastic. I am glad I found your videos. I am totally new to painting, and
I feel like I am totally unable, but your videos are really motivating, and
I am having fun practicing what you teach. Thank you!
I thought I was horrible at drawing hands here to find out I’m really good.
Your the best teacher ever you got my sub
I understand wireframes really well because I used to draw planets a lot
when I was a kid around three years old. My interest in them has highly
increased because they help see the 3D shapes whether you shade them or
not. And ringed planets are like the beginning of a wireframe except not
touching the planet so actually more like the start of a floating
wireframe! XD
Your videos are truly awesome and contain a great deal of valuable
information..
“4 Different Shapes” draws 3 shapes.
Thanks for making these videos!
I use to take picture with my cellphone and then sketch and draw
inspiration from them. Like taking a walk and grabing picture of “stuff”
you find and see then, when i sketch i can have a quick reminder.
This is really helpful! I’d like to see your hand sketch book please
this is excellent teaching 🙂
people pay lots of cash to learn basic principles such as these…
may good karma come back to you
:D
This helps a lot thank you :)

Hi Many thanks for great video.
Love your videos I’ve always been just naturally good at drawing but
learning basic and how to just do simple things to improve myself I love
it. Thanks :-)
thanks for your uploads, i bought a scatch book and im drawing every day
some things in it… its amazing to see the process
Keep them coming, I’ve learned more from you that any other artist
anywhere.
thanks bro… i sucks at drawing but this works at firs part, now i can be
like pro :3 again thanks :D
I was used to traditional drawing, but then I stopped for half a year.
Now I have to re-learn the basics, but this time I’m using a tablet.
I am going to be so pissed if I’ve been perusing the wrong creative outlet
this whole time.
I want to draw the face of a golden retriever. He was my daughter’s dog
who recently died of cancer. Beautiful dog. I have been drawing, drawing,
drawing and painting in acrylics…Sure would appreciate some advice.
Well “mayan”, doing realism its better to draw from photos. From your mind
is not realistic plus you dnt have a photo memory, if i asked you to draw
things you never drew before or even seen it would be a mess. People who
draw good out of the head drew that thing maaaany times before. A artist
draws what they see. Its how art started and is art.
Thanks
Another excellent lesson! Thank you. Working my way through your clips.
Ei dude your hands are just like mine! right at 5:06 it even scared me lol
Thank you so much!
Thanks for your videos! I’ve just started learning, looking forward to your
next videos :-)
Brandon, I know I already shared a thought but as I read the other
responses I now want to see your art. I’m sure it’s pretty wonderful. I
paint in watercolor and acrylic, ususally one or the other but have felt
more comfortable to mix media a little however I only painted what I knew,
like nature. Having only high school art, which was varied I knew I needed
to draw more but I didn’t understand perspective and I’m so glad I found
your video.
draw a my little pony
thank you so much.
Thank you for doing these free videos. You’re easy to understand and just a
wonderful instructor because you are low keyed and don’t insist on
perfection the first time around. I very much need the real understanding
of perspective and I choose you. Books often aren’t well written or maybe
they are but having an example to work with is the real key; seeing it come
to form is even better
great work and thanks for what is basically free art education.
Hi Brandon, really excited for this series! I started off in watercolors
then acrylics, I was struggling and took your advice of learning how to
draw first and I love drawing more than I could have imagined thanks all
the way from Northern Ireland UK, your vids have me helped me so much!!
Interesting to see new stuff coming from you. Still love your paintings
though, so don’t quit them completely? =) What about starting with oils?
This will be a great series! Since I’m only a month and days into acrylic
painting I realized I’m only painting from my minds eye. Drawing an object
I’m looking at is all new to me. I wonder what percentage of artists paint
from the mind vs. the eyes..? Proportions are next, great! Need those 🙂
Thanks Brandon.
