Ordinary sharpies can’t hurt you.
What CAN hurt you are those industrial sharpies and other industrial
markers!
They literally say “INDUSTRIAL” on the marker!
“INDUSTRIAL” markers have a special chemical in them.
They are used in factories to mark over symbols that mean toxic chemicals
on boxes used for shipping.
I used to work in a makeup factory.
We used to run low on boxes and needed to use chemical shipping boxes to
ship the supplies to China.
Problem is that it is illegal in this country for the “TOXIC CHEMICALS”
symbols to show if you are not shipping dangerous chemicals.
So the manufacturing procedure is to take “INDUSTRIAL” markers and mark
over them with smeared marker until the symbol can no longer be seen.
Make sense?
I used to get sick using those damn things when I worked in the
manufacturing business.
Thankfully, I no longer work there and am studying art in college instead!

Anyway, normal sharpies are not so bad. Just keep away from those pesky
“INDUSTRIAL” markers that have special boxing chemicals. Those can kill
you!
