Does anyone know what kind of pencil he used in this video?
I feel like you aren’t pushing the forms as much as you should be. You’re
inventing your own forms, and simplifying them. Your drawing didn’t have as
much of a faceted surface as the reference.
That said, I’m really in love with your pencil illustrations. They’re
great!
Hmm … not bad. Not quite like the reference though. The teeth looked a
bit strange; the skull was too “domed”; some of the transitions were a bit
too angular; the shape of the cerebellum area wasn’t quite right; and some
of the shading looked a bit “off”. Of course, we can’t really tell because
you might have been going for a different look, and we don’t know that,
since there was no commentary.
The thing here is that watching another person draw a skull doesn’t make me
better at drawing skulls I know this isn’t a How To tutorial but there are
over 9000 (over 9000 get it? Heh heh) tutorials that say How To Draw A
Skull (or something else) that just have a timelapse of some exert drawing
a skull or something else
He drew the skull better than the actual image. wow, this was really
helpful thanks.

Nice work, I have a couple questions. You seem to have a bit of an issue I
run into sometimes when I draw from a photo where I sometimes change the
angle slightly ( your drawing is facing slightly more right and the chin is
lower) Do you think this is an issue and should I worry about this with my
own work?
Also, I noticed you draw using very straight, rigid lines which I assume is
because you are breaking down the object into its simplest shapes. Do you
ever start a drawing with more fluid lines?
