The black around the eyes is probably used to help keep the light out of
their eyes when they’re hunting or something, kind of like football players
and the black stuff they put under their eyes

Just a tip
From the references i’ve observed, the “smiley bit” of the mouth should be
a bit narrower and hug the snout more closely as it tapers off. That’s one
of the main differences i’ve seen as the differences between dogs and
wolves a more elongated/narrower almost telescopic snout.

I’ve drawn a couple of things from your videos…wish I were better. Every
time I start to draw I am tempted to trace because I don’t know the basic
fundamentals of drawing and can’t really draw the best. I end up taking the
hour or two to draw it without tracing, but got any tips so I can get
better in general? +markcrilley I’m usually following the anime vids
because that’s what I am in to, just the wolf looked cool so I had to watch
it :D

grey wolfs are grey

Mark, I can’t even begin to describe how much I love your videos 🙂 I’ve
been watching them since I was going through my anime and manga phase when
I was about 10. I’m now almost 16 and I still watch whatever you draw
because it’s just fascinating 🙂 .

By any chance do you know what type of wolf this is? I would love to
recreate with a photo
that black thing around the eye is for when there is snow everywhere and
the sun reflects of the snow creating a very bright light and the black
around there eyes is like polarised glasses for us but for them it is
natrual im not a wolf expert i just study about animals cheatahs have it
too
