This helped me a ton!. When I was younger, and before watching this video I
always went for the shape “committed” as you said, and I always wondered why
my drawings looked horrible. I took what you said about sketching the
general shape and idea, ran with it,and started drawing things around the
house. I’m having a lot of fun,and i’m very happy about how my sketches
look.
Thank you for this video, I am a beginner and the way you explain things
and the “forget about perfection” has given me more confidence in my
ability to draw…
This is really cool of you to make all these videos for the general public
so we can learn to draw. I really appreciate it and I’m sure many others do
as well. So thank you. 🙂
All of the materials in the video was really hard to find in my country.
All I have is a Gum and plastic erasers, prisma color pencils, Staedtler
pencils (B’s and H’s), the sharpener (duh), the shades of grey markers and
the blending stumps? But still the video helped me though thnx :)
Never subscribed to a youtube channel, but you have given me hope to my
ability to draw. Just following this video turned my 3 year old style
artwork into something approaching presentable. Thank you for your time
creating this video!
My fatal flaw has always been perfectionism when I tried to learn how to
draw, getting rid of that is a great tip and something I never thought to
do.
Wow…you sure did pack a heck of a lot of amazing advice into a very short
video!
Thank you for sharing these tips!
I really loved the idea of placing an arrow pointing to where the light
source is coming from…SUPER helpful!
Also liked the whole advice on not being a perfectionist.
I’m searching how to sketch when I already learned it in my Art class. Wtf?
But I didn’t know that I was sketching. I thought it was just an assignment
completed by the end of class. Oh well, this was still very helpful! Made
me realize. Lol!
It was one of the best drawing lessons I have ever seen. thank you so much
for sharing it with us. I indeed found the motivation I needed to start up.
Many many thanks to you :-)

“Get rid of the perfectionist mentality.” – Those words hit home.. thanks
for the vid!
Thank you for this video! I’m learning to draw and this is very helpful. :)
Could I sketch with a HB pencil? 🙂 Your lines and sketching looks so great
compared to mine. Whenever I try to sketch it looks weird

Funny, a lot of professional artists, and books, argue against your
technique at 7:10.
I just have to point out. You sound like really, really nice. You sound
like you’re a nice person :)

Thanks! This was a great video. I think the B in HB stands for Brittle. So
an HB would essentially be a Hard-Brittle :)
Ótimo canal. As dicas são demais.
Obrigado por compartilhar. São muitas informações legais e interessantes.
Parabéns pela iniciativa!
